A small & Intimate Wedding at Gipping Church and Tuddenham Mill | Kate & Rob

It was an honour to photograph Kate & Rob’s wedding at St Nicholas’ Chapel, Gipping followed by a small reception at Tuddenham Mill, Suffolk. The day was one of the hottest of the summer, making Kate’s beautiful tea-length gown the perfect choice for a joyous, intimate and poignant celebration.

The day began at Bury St Edmunds, Angel Hotel, where the wedding party stayed the night before the wedding. From here to Gipping was a short drive through the Suffolk countryside, looking glorious in the summer sunshine. Marrying at St Nicholas’ had a special significance for the couple; Kate’s father had been vicar here and was fondly remembered by the local community. Even the current minister remembered him with affection from his own childhood. A haven of calm, it’s a truly special place (you can read more about the chapel here).

Following the ceremony, the wedding party enjoyed drinks on the grounds of the chapel (a perfect time to photograph family groups and a few portraits), before heading off to Tuddenham Mill for a meal in the tipi, shaded by willow trees on the river bank.

This was my first time photographing at Tuddenham and I’d very much like to return (hint) - so if you’re planning your wedding in the west of Suffolk, please do get in touch. I’d love to be part of your plans, especially if they involve Tuddenham Mill!
